Our Bujinkan Martial Arts program is our flagship program. In addition to Budo Taijutsu training, this program also includes all of the principles and drills found in our Shinken Taijutsu and Personal Defense Readiness™ programs.
These classes are an “on-going” course, and are open to all levels of students from beginner to advanced.
What is Budo Taijutsu?
Budo Taijutsu is the most comprehensive martial art system in the world!
Surviving through centuries of warfare on Japan’s ancient battlefields, these arts are still being employed by many of the world’s leading military forces and law enforcement agencies.
Whereas many arts focus only on striking or only on grappling, you’ll be learning to integrate each fluidly from your first day of training. You’ll also learn to employ weapons, both ancient and modern.
Budo Taijutsu employs strikes and kicks, throws, jointlocks and chokes, as well as groundfighting and weapons as a unified whole to make you the most complete martial artist capable of handling a plethora of self defense situations.
Strength, speed, and physical toughness are limited. They each fade with age and fatigue, or are dependent on physical stature. With Budo Taijutsu, you’ll rely on skillful use of distancing, timing, and balance to survive an attack. Distancing overcomes toughness, timing overcomes speed, and balance overcomes strength.
Not a Sport Martial Art
The word “martial” implies war or combat. And war is not a game. Self defense is not a matter of win or lose. It is a matter of live or die.
You will fight the way that you train, so it’s important to train the way that you’ll fight.
In many sport martial arts, certain moves like strikes to the groin, eye gouges, and sometimes even closed fist strikes to the face are considered illegal. By training this way you would condition yourself to not use those moves even if an attacker pulled a knife on you.
In sport martial arts, the opponents are always one on one. In a real world attack, it’s very likely that you may face multiple opponents.
You must train the way that you’ll fight!
From Theory to Application
Your training will focus on the study of traditional martial arts and how to translate that study into useful application of techniques for real world self defense scenarios.
You will learn the fundamental mechanics, tactics, and strategies for physical self defense and martial arts techniques. You will also learn proper mindset and how to inoculate yourself to better deal with the stress of a real life attack.
Additionally, you’ll reap the benefits of improved physical conditioning, lowered stress, more restful sleep, fat loss, muscular endurance and strength, improved stamina, higher energy, and simply feeling better throughout the day.
You will gradually progress from fundamental techniques and tactics to advanced principles and strategies. Along the way we “stress test” what you have learned so that you gain the confidence that comes with knowledge, experience, and accomplishment.
